Today’s session at Hong Kong Academy of Management was about showing entrepreneurs and professionals how to turn AI into real business value, not just a buzzword. It was also the kick-off of the “AI創業致富證書課程”, so the focus was very practical: tools, cases and mindset.
What we covered
Shared how generative AI, automation and platforms like DingTalk can help founders reduce cost, test ideas faster and build lean, scalable operations.
Walked through real Hong Kong and Greater Bay Area use cases so participants could see how AI is already changing sales, marketing, customer service and internal workflows.
Emphasised the “management mindset”: AI will replace repetitive tasks, so entrepreneurs must upgrade to roles of designer, orchestrator and decision-maker rather than pure executor.
Energy in the classroom
The room was full of founders, managers and working adults who are curious but also feeling the pressure of AI disruption, which led to very honest questions and discussions.
Many participants stayed behind after class to ask about applying AI to their own SMEs and side businesses, from leads generation to customer follow-up and talent management.
Key takeaway for participants
AI is no longer optional “future tech”; it is already a basic skill set for anyone who wants to stay competitive in the Hong Kong and GBA business environment.
Start small but start now: pick one workflow, apply simple AI automation, measure the impact, then gradually build your own AI-powered business model instead of waiting to be disrupted.
Grateful to Hong Kong Academy of Management for inviting me to share at the AI創業致富證書課程, and to every participant who invested their Saturday to learn how to upgrade their skills for the AI era. Looking forward to seeing more Hong Kong entrepreneurs turn AI into real, sustainable growth in the months ahead.
